FAYETTEVILLE, NC – A shooting on Sunday night in Fayetteville left one person dead and two others injured, according to authorities.
Fayetteville Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7100 block of Chinoak Drive at approximately 7:38 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2025. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.
Two other individuals were also found to have sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating the incident. The department is asking for the public's help in this case. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective D. Jackson at (910) 751-9363.
