FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County Commissioner Marshall Faircloth has been reappointed to the prestigious Rural Action Caucus (RAC) of the National Association of Counties (NACo), an honor that recognizes his continued leadership and advocacy for rural communities. The appointment was made by NACo President J.D. Clark, who praised Faircloth's "unwavering commitment and exemplary dedication to NACo."
In his role on the RAC, Commissioner Faircloth will collaborate with county leaders from across the nation to address pressing issues facing rural America. His focus will include advocating for solutions related to economic development, broadband expansion, infrastructure, healthcare access, and workforce challenges.
The reappointment comes as NACo launches its new initiative, "County Storytellers," which aims to highlight local voices and narratives to build trust and connection within communities.
"I’m honored to once again serve on NACo’s Rural Action Caucus and represent Cumberland County at the national level,” said Commissioner Faircloth. “Our rural communities face unique challenges, but they are also full of promise. I look forward to working with my colleagues to share our stories, highlight local successes, and advocate for solutions that make a real difference.”
The Rural Action Caucus is one of NACo’s most influential advocacy platforms, providing a voice for the priorities and needs of the nation's rural counties. NACo serves nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees nationwide.
