Cumberland County Schools will operate on an asynchronous remote learning schedule on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. This decision follows current weather conditions, road hazards, and the forecasted winter weather moving through the region.
During the asynchronous day, students will complete assignments prepared by teachers at their own pace without live video sessions. According to information obtained by Fay News 10, assignments will be posted on platforms like Canvas and Google Classroom or provided via paper packets. Elementary and middle school students have five days to submit work, while high school students have three days; completion of these tasks will verify attendance for Monday.
All school-related facilities and district offices are closed, and employees are working remotely. All after-school activities, athletic events, and Prime Time services for Monday have been canceled. Students taking courses at Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville Technical Community College, or through College Connections are advised to follow the guidance of their school principals.
