
Arrest Made in Pembroke Homicide Investigation
PEMBROKE, NC – An arrest has been made in connection with the homicide of Dwayne Locklear, whose body was discovered yesterday morning at a Pembroke residence. John Luther Locklear was arrested this afternoon and charged with murder following an intensive investigation by local and state authorities.
The Pembroke Police Department requested the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) yesterday morning after Dwayne Locklear's body was found at 524 Union Chapel Road in Pembroke around 10:00 AM.
Since the discovery, detectives from the Pembroke Police Department, working collaboratively with SBI agents, have been actively investigating the case for the past day and a half. Their combined efforts led to the arrest of John Luther Locklear.
No further details regarding the circumstances of the homicide or the relationship between the victim and the accused have been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
