
Driver Arrested in Fatal Hit and Run Last Night
A pedestrian was killed in a collision on Wednesday night, July 23, 2025, at the intersection of Robeson Street and Whitfield Street in Fayetteville. The Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit responded to the incident at approximately 11:01 p.m.
Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. Authorities are withholding the victim's name pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle involved, Angela Harrington, was located and interviewed by police. She has since been arrested and charged with Felony Death by Vehicle, Felony Hit and Run Serious Injury/Death, Driving While Impaired, No Operators License, and Failure to Maintain Lane Control.
Harrington is also facing a Misdemeanor Child Abuse charge because her child, who is under 16 years old, was in the vehicle while she was allegedly driving under the influence and during the hit-and-run incident. She is being held on a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
