Today, two individuals with serious charges made their initial court appearances in Fayetteville. Peter Andrew Munn is facing charges including breaking and entering a home, larceny of a firearm, and assault on a child under 12. Also appearing in court was Tanjela Marie King, who is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony assault on an individual with a disability. Cumberland County Teacher Arrested
In other local news, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit Detectives arrested Dominic Jrael Hunter, 37, of Fayetteville, on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025. Hunter, who has worked at Howard Learning Academy and Douglas Byrd High School, is charged with Indecent Liberties with a Student. He was released on a $50,000 unsecured bond following his first appearance today. Authorities are urging parents, guardians, and caregivers to discuss inappropriate touching and relationships with their children.

Fayetteville Police Investigate Fireworks Incident
Fayetteville Police are investigating a dangerous incident at the Fayetteville Motor Sports Drag Strip that occurred on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, around 8:25. A young child and an adult were injured after fireworks were reportedly launched directly towards them by an unidentified group. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is seeking public assistance in identifying those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy C. Attorney General Jeff Jackson Sues FEMA
