
Arrests Made in Skibo Road Wendy's Shooting
FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Fayetteville Police Department detectives have apprehended two individuals in connection with the shooting that occurred on May 21, 2025, at the Wendy's restaurant located at 2070 Skibo Road.
A juvenile suspect has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. A custody order was secured and subsequently served.
An adult suspect, 18-year-old Quincy Case, a Black male, faces multiple charges, including Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property. Case was taken into custody on June 1, 2025, following a vehicle pursuit initiated by Fayetteville Police after he failed to stop during a traffic stop.
The pursuit resulted in additional charges against Case, including Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Felony Flee to Elude, Careless and Reckless Driving, and Operating a Vehicle without an Operator's License.
Case is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
The shooting incident on May 21, 2025, occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Wendy's. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a female victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. She was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment. The offenders fled the scene before police arrived. Several rounds struck the front of the business, but no other injuries were reported. Investigators have stated that this was an isolated incident.
The Fayetteville Police Department's Aggravated Assault Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
