Cape Fear Valley Health celebrated the accomplishments of its spring 2025 Nursing Assistant I and Nursing Assistant II program graduates on Wednesday, April 30. The recognition ceremony took place at the Cape Fear Valley Center for Medical Education and Neuroscience Institute.

Twenty-one individuals successfully completed their programs and received certificates. This included four graduates from the Nursing Assistant I program and seventeen from the Nursing Assistant II program. Each program involved a 15-week curriculum designed to develop clinical expertise and further healthcare careers.

These Nursing Assistant programs are provided at no cost to Cape Fear Valley employees, demonstrating the health system's dedication to workforce development and high-quality patient care. The programs are described as competitive training opportunities in the region, preparing participants for the current healthcare environment.

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is one of only two hospital-based locations in North Carolina authorized to offer a certified NA I program, highlighting its leadership in clinical education. Program graduates gain enhanced clinical skills, increased earning potential, and a defined path toward obtaining a nursing degree.

Since the program's inception, a total of 46 NA I students and 172 NA II students have graduated.

The Nursing Assistant programs are open to current nursing assistants looking to advance their careers, as well as employees from various roles within the health system who share a commitment to professional growth and service.
