Join the City of Fayetteville for Its Annual Fall Cleanup Event
The City of Fayetteville is calling on all residents to help make a difference by participating in this year's Fayetteville Beautiful citywide cleanup event. Scheduled for Saturday, October 4th, this annual event is a great way for individuals and groups to help beautify their neighborhoods and the city as a whole.
This year, the city is excited to be partnering with Keep America Beautiful, a national nonprofit dedicated to creating cleaner, more vibrant communities. This collaboration aims to amplify the event's impact, helping to remove litter, improve local parks, and protect the city’s stormwater drains.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to help keep our streets, parks and in stormwater drains clean from litter throughout the city,” said Jessica Howell, a management analyst with the city.
How to Get Involved
If you'd like to participate, you can easily sign up online at FayettevilleBeautiful.com. On the website, you can register and use an interactive map to select a cleanup location that works for you, whether it’s a street in your own neighborhood or another area of the city.
Supply pickup will be available for all participants on Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 121 Lamon Street. For your safety, the city encourages all cleanup efforts to take place during daylight hours on the day of the event.
Once you’ve filled your bags, you should close and tie them securely. Then, place only the orange bags along the roadside, several yards from the pavement, and consolidate them at intersections. The collected litter will be picked up by the city on Monday, Oct. 6.
