Sex Offender Registration Unit Detectives had been conducting surveillance at the elementary school following a tip that Yarborough had been on the property. At approximately 3:00 p.m. on the day of the arrest, detectives observed a red Tahoe, driven by Yarborough, entering the school's parking lot.

Detectives immediately arrested and charged Yarborough with two counts of being a sex offender on a child premises, a felony that prohibits registered sex offenders from entering the grounds of a public school.

Yarborough was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center and remains behind bars, unable to meet the demands of his $100,000 secured bond.

UPDATE: Authorities File Additional Charges Related to Second School

The defendant is looking at two more counts of the same charge regarding a different school. Authorities have now publicly disclosed the details of the second location and the pending charges.

The charging text confirms that the new felony counts are for being a sex offender on a child premises regarding Grays Creek Elementary School, located at 2964 School Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348.

The charging document states that Yarborough, a registered sex offender previously convicted of one count of Indecent Liberties with a Child, unlawfully and knowingly entered onto the Cumberland County School property of Grays Creek Elementary School. The date of that offense has not been publicly released, but the charges are expected to be formally served on Yarborough before his next appearance. The total number of felony counts is now expected to be four.

Yarborough’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 23.
