Investigation Launched After Human Remains Found on Plymouth Street

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a death investigation after human remains were discovered this weekend.

The investigation began on Saturday, October 4, when the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 1:47 regarding a death investigation in the 500 Block of Plymouth Street in Fayetteville. Deputies arrived on the scene and confirmed the discovery of human remains.

As of Monday evening, the identity of the individual has not been released, and authorities stated that the investigation is still ongoing. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has not released any further details at this time.
