
Lumberton FFA Members Top State in Truck, Tractor Driving
Two Lumberton FFA members, Isaac Simmons and Chase Lowry, have steered their way to impressive finishes at the State Tractor and Truck Driving Career Development Events (CDE) held recently at the Southern Farm Show in Raleigh.

Simmons placed first in the Truck Driving CDE. Lowry competed in the Tractor Driving CDE, earning tenth place statewide and first in the South Central Region
The Lumberton FFA Chapter states that they are proud of both students' accomplishments. Chapter adviser Candace Grimsley expressed her pride, saying, “I couldn’t be prouder of these young men for representing our chapter and the Lumber River Federation with such dedication. Their hard work and determination have truly paid off.”
PSRC Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson echoed the congratulations, emphasizing the importance of such competitions. “Career Development Events are an opportunity to showcase the skills and knowledge gained through education. Congratulations, Isaac and Chase, on demonstrating your expertise and hard work. Your success is an inspiration to others, and I hope you continue to achieve great things in the future,” Dr. Williamson stated. The superintendent's remarks highlight the value of CDEs in fostering practical skills and knowledge in students pursuing careers in agriculture.
