Election Results: Colvin Secures Fifth Term as Fayetteville Mayor; City Council Sees New Faces
Fayetteville Mayor Mitch Colvin has won a decisive victory in the Fayetteville Mayoral General Election, securing an unprecedented fifth term in office. The election, held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, also resulted in significant changes to the Fayetteville City Council. With all 59 precincts unofficially reporting, Mayor Colvin defeated challenger Kathy Keefe Jensen, a former Mayor Pro Tem, with approximately 69.80% of the vote to Jensen's 28.60%. Colvin's victory solidifies his long tenure, cementing his leadership for another term, which he attributed to the community's support for his administration's focus on continued economic development and public safety initiatives. Meanwhile, the nine-member City Council welcomed at least two new members alongside a roster of re-elected incumbents. Stephon Ferguson was the clear winner in District 1, while Antonio Jones secured a victory in District 3, returning to the Council after a previous term. Incumbents Malik Davis (District 2), D.J. Haire (District 4), Johnny Lee Wilson (District 5), Derrick Thompson (District 6), Brenda McNair (District 7), Shaun McMillan (District 8), and Deno Hondros (District 9) all secured re-election, creating a mix of new energy and established leadership that will guide the city into the new term.
