
Shots Fired Near Fayetteville's Dogwood Festival
Fayetteville, NC - On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at approximately 8:35 pm, Fayetteville Police Department officers responded to a report of shots fired along the 200 block of Maiden Lane. The incident occurred near the Dogwood Festival, leading to the suspension of festival operations at 9:00 pm out of an abundance of caution.
Officers arriving at the scene found a vehicle damaged by gunfire. No injuries were reported. According to a press release from the Fayetteville Police Department, the area along Maiden Lane was outside the immediate footprint of the festival.
Police officers were already on assignment at the festival and were able to respond quickly. They remained in the area to assist citizens leaving the event.
