The candidate filing period for Town of Linden Commissioner and Town of Stedman Commissioner has been extended by five business days by the Cumberland County Board of Elections. The Cumberland County Board of Elections has extended the candidate filing period for commissioner seats in the towns of Linden and Stedman. The extension, which begins Wednesday, July 23, at 8 a.m. and concludes Tuesday, July 29, at 5 p.m., was approved unanimously by the Board of Elections on Tuesday, July 22. This action was taken as a result of a limited number of candidates filing for the established positions. Individuals interested in filing for these roles can do so at the Board of Elections office, located in the E. Newton Smith Center at 227 Fountainhead Lane, Suite 101, in Fayetteville. Filing hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Fayetteville Primary election is scheduled for October 7, 2025, with municipal elections set for November 4, 2025, according to information obtained by Fay News 10.
