FAYETTEVILLE, NC – A juvenile sustained a gunshot wound early Monday morning in an incident that occurred at the Lake Rim Boat Ramp, prompting an investigation by the Fayetteville Police Department's Aggravated Assault Unit.

Authorities were alerted to the situation at approximately 3:16 am. when the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office notified Fayetteville officers that a juvenile gunshot victim had arrived at Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital.

Deputies indicated the shooting took place at the Lake Rim Boat Ramp, located at 7490 Raeford Road, around 3:05 am. Responding Fayetteville officers located multiple shell casings at the scene.

Investigators have determined that several individuals were present at the boat ramp when the shooting occurred.

The Fayetteville Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is requesting that anyone with information, photos, or videos related to the event come forward.
