Cumberland County deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on Dwelle Drive. An adult male was transported to a medical facility where he later died from his injuries.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting at the 2900 block of Dwelle Drive in Fayetteville just after 12 a.m. on February 7, 2026. Upon arrival, law enforcement located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to information obtained by Officials, the victim was transported to a local medical center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the deceased is currently being withheld as authorities work to notify the next of kin.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting.
