Harnett County, NC - A collaborative effort by the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and the police departments of Dunn, Angier, and Lillington has led to the execution of search warrants on nine smoke shops across the county over the past two weeks. The raids were initiated following numerous public complaints about the alleged sale of products to minors, a rise in overdose incidents involving young people, and the distribution of products with illegal levels of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
During the operation, authorities seized a total of 64 pounds of THC products and $49,033 in cash. The targeted businesses were selling a variety of items, including THC vapes, pre-rolled cigars, and flower buds. While the shops claimed these products contained legal levels of THC, tests revealed the levels were significantly higher, violating North Carolina state law. The investigation is ongoing, with more details expected to be released as the case progresses.
