Over 500 Gather Downtown Fayetteville for the No Kings Protest

Hundreds gathered in Downtown Fayetteville on Saturday, joining the nationwide "No Kings" protest to voice their opposition to the current presidential administration. From sidewalks to the microphone, individuals expressed concerns ranging from environmental policy to immigration, echoing sentiments shared by protestors from coast to coast.

Many attendees spoke out against what they described as authoritarian excesses and corruption from the Trump administration. Denise Bruce highlighted environmental concerns as her primary motivation for participating. "I am out here mostly for the environment and for the future of America, things that are not being talked about in the Trump administration are environmental concerns," Bruce stated. She further expressed apprehension about potential damage, recalling past attempts to "push through some really nasty climate change legislation that would have ruined our environment instead of improve it," and adding, "I'm on the lookout for damage to our national parks and more damage to our environment.”

Timothy Dauntain focused on immigration, a key issue for many participants. "We all get due process in this country. A day in court to explain ourselves, why we don't want to go back, why we came here, why we took such risks to come here, that's what courts are for, and they are not getting that," Dauntain emphasized.

Throughout the protest, participants raised signs, cheered, and used their voices to draw national attention to what they believe is a tyrannical presidency.
